From the preface:
It was quite some time ago, while I was ‘surfing’ the Internet somewhat aimlessly, that I read the claim that the “Sachsenspiegel” (Saxon Mirror) dates from the time when the Saxons were fighting Charlemagne. Even two websites, one in German and one in English claimed this. I saw no point in explaining that this was not true, but instead put on my to-do list the plan to write a piece about that Sachsenspiegel, putting it in some perspective – in German, English, and Dutch. Due to the low priority of the project, it was realized only now, i.e. after uncounted years; moreover, the need for research was also blocked for a long time by a very strong weaker self.

Btw… something complete different….
The legal matter involving the American artist to whom I paid for a cover image, and who subsequently requested additional funds, has been resolved. The attorney to whom I entrusted the case has won in court. The artist has been sentenced to pay one thousand dollars and is also responsible for the court costs.
I have received my money back along with a bonus due to the delayed publication of the book. The remaining money will cover the attorney’s fees.
So, except for some stress, the case has not cost me any money.
