Admittedly, although I worked over the last quite a few months at my PC, it was not making new contributions to this site that had priority. Instead the research around the ancient terms “T(h)ing – þing or ðing” took so much time that other work at the computer had to take a step back.
Well, a German version of that research was published in a book, predominantly focused at Germany. But as I brought myself through to take the decision to also work on an English edition of that work, and it needed time to decide, I planned to change the manuscript in the way to reduce the focus on Germany and to add much more about the ‘Ting’ from other countries. That needed first of all continuing the research.
To keep thing short, an English book was also published and it contains a lot more than the German edition. That lead to the intention to work on a 2nd German edition which also will contain all additions the English book has. At this moment, this intention has not started to realize, perhaps later this year… perhaps…
Meanwhile I also decided to translate my book about the Goddess Nehalennia in English. That work exists already in German and Dutch.It was really a tough decision. The first German edition was published in 2008, the second Dutch edition in 2016. Both editions are used for my translation. It needed first of all to get myself again in the topic… much had almost been sunken into my personal oblivion. But some weeks ago the translation project has been started.
As a last remark … the small online shop where my wife and I sell the books we wrote autographed and with a dedication to each buyer is in the slow process of shutting down. We only sell there books we have still in stock, we do not add new supply anymore. When most of the stock has been sold, the shop will be closed. It simply takes too much of our energy we prefer to use for other things.
