Brentano’s Lorelei Poem

A few years back, I penned an enlightening article about the Lorelei phenomenon, also known as Lorelay or Lore Lay, and published it in English, German, and Dutch. You can find it in each language as a PDF on this website. It is available for reading, downloading, or both. If you’re not well-acquainted with this captivating figure, I recommend reading the article first to enhance your understanding of the songs mentioned below.

In 2025, I transformed those texts into videos that also feature the related poems by Clemens Brentano and Heinrich Heine as songs. The talented singer Karan Troubadoura recorded the renowned Heine song for this project. Other songs were generated using AI. From these videos, the song featuring Brentano’s Lorelei poem has been extracted now.

Recently, I set the German version, the original poem, to music using AI. You can listen to it with lyrics on my YouTube channel at the following link: (Standard note: When switching to YouTube, cookies are generated from there that Boudicca’s Bard has no control over)

The English version, beautifully translated by Alfred Baskerville (1817-1884), has also been set to music using AI and is available on YouTube. You can listen to it with lyrics at:
